I think this photo is most appropriate for starting this photo album.  It shows my mother who went by her middle name "Maxine", and her mother, Iva Mae Icenogle Alcorn, reviewing family photos at my grandparents home in Mt. Sterling, IL.  I remember this time.  I think the photo is from the late 1970s. 

I will post photos as I have scanned them and done some minor editing.  The editing includes sharpening the contrast and some cropping to focus on the subjects,  people.  I expect there will be some errors in names and dates, and will edit to correct those as I review the information on ancestry.com and information that my mother collected.  Maxine loved doing family history and genealogy, and I think she would be very proud to see the photos and history online.

I will be happy to mail some of the original photos to any appropriate relative, who I know or can show relationship via ancestry.com or DNA.  My DNA test result is on ancestry.com, and verifies the Alcorn/Icenogle lineage..
